The Cartersville Purple Hurricanes have been churning out the region championships in recent years.

Cartersville has won six consecutive region titles, with the past four coming with head coach Joey King at the helm.

Cartersville has put itself in position to make it seven in a row, although it has a strong Troup team standing in its way.

Cartersville and Troup are both unbeaten, and they’ll play each other to finish the regular season on Nov. 2.

Cartersville is tops in the region with a 3-0 record, while Troup is 2-0 in region play.

Troup is trying to win its first region title since 1987.

Cedartown is still in the title picture with a 2-1 region record, and Sandy Creek is 1-1.

Central-Carroll is 1-2 in the region, and Chapel Hill (0-2) and LaGrange (0-3) are winless in the region.
