Mr. James Edwin “Jimmy” Farrar

Mr. James Edwin “Jimmy” Farrar, 67, of LaGrange, Georgia, passed away Monday, Oct. 29, 2018, at his home.

Mr. Farrar was born Dec. 8, 1950, in LaGrange, Georgia, to Vesta Eloise Foster Farrar and the late Edwin Herman Farrar. He retired from West Point Stevens and was a loving husband and father. His devotion to his family was always a priority. Jimmy loved his music and played in numerous bands including Raw Energy, Molly Hatchet, Predator, Section 8, Gator Country, Southern Rock Allstars, Hangin’ Tough. During his music career, he received Gold and Platinum Awards. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

Survivors include his loving wife, Elizabeth Farrar; son, Nathan Farrar; daughter, Jamaica Farrar Jackson (Carl “Trea” Jackson III); mother, Vesta Foster Farrar; sister, Tharon Norred (Mike Norred); four grandsons; one granddaughter; nephew, Jay Daniel; other relatives and friends.

A celebration of life service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 4, 2018, at Stateline Congregational Christian Church. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the Troup High School Marching Band in memory of Jimmy Farrar.
