Fresh off their winning performance in last week’s region-championship game, the Unity Prep Academy Rams will be at home today for the opening round of the Georgia Independent Christian Athletic Association 11-man Class AA state playoffs.

Unity Prep secured the region title by beating Griffin Christian 44-0 last week, while Holy Ground finished second in its region.

Kickoff will be at 7:30 p.m. at Hendrix Stadium in Hogansville.

The winner of today’s game will face either Skipstone Academy or Lanier Christian Academy in the state-championship game next week.

Also today, the Lafayette Christian School Cougars will be on the road for the opening round of the GICAA Class A 11-man playoffs.

Lafayette Christian, which finished second in its region, will be in Woodstock to play Cherokee Christian which won its region.

If Lafayette Christian wins, it will play for a state championship next week.

Lafayette Christian, which is in its first season of 11-man football, won an eight-man state championship in 2015.
