Sally Ann Hester, 88, of LaGrange, Georgia, peacefully passed away Thursday, Nov. 29, 2018, at Florence Hand Home.

Mrs. Hester was born April 11, 1930, in LaGrange, Georgia, to the late Edgar Word Smith and Docie Pearl Kirby Smith. She retired from Playtex, Inc. after many years of service and was a member of First Assembly of God in LaGrange. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Hester; grandchild, Mitch England; sister, Frances Edmondson; and brother, Edgar Smith.

Survivors include her children, Pat and David England of West Point, Georgia; Jean and Danny Farmer of Newnan, Georgia; Eddie and Denise Hester of Phenix City, Alabama; Keith Hester of LaGrange, Georgia; Douglas and Teresa Hester of LaGrange, Georgia; 17 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; sisters, Carolyn Henderson and Maxine Smith both of LaGrange; brother, Calvin Smith of Virginia; special caregiver, Kathleen Teague; other relatives and friends.

The gathering of family and friends will be 11 a.m. until noon prior to the service at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary. Funeral services will be at noon Saturday, Dec. 1, 2018, in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary with Pastor Michael Hornsby officiating. Burial will follow in Shadowlawn Cemetery.
