The public is invited to join the City of LaGrange for its monthly litter clean-up event Saturday, Jan. 12 from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.

The group will meet in the Weathers Honda parking lot, located at 1808 Vernon Road, and clean the area along Vernon Street, West Point Road and Vernon Road.

The city’s Dec. 1 litter cleanup event was canceled because of rainy weather.

The City of LaGrange held its last litter pick-up event Nov. 3, and uncovered an illegal dumping site in a ravine along E. Bacon Street, just behind Shadowlawn cemetery.

LaGrange Mayor Jim Thornton, Troup County Commission Chairman Patrick Crews, West Point Mayor Steve Tramell, Hogansville Mayor Bill Stankiewicz, along with Keep Troup Beautiful have joined forces to help clean up the litter in the community.
