Callaway surges past Jordan

COLUMBUS – Duke Simpson and the Callaway Cavaliers had it all working.
Simpson delivered a 34-point effort as Callaway thumped Jordan 85-58 on Saturday in a Region 5-AA game.
The Cavaliers (6-8 overall) improved to 5-1 in the region, remaining one game behind the Spencer Greenwave.
Demetrius Coleman added 16 points, and Antinez Blount added 10 points as Callaway won its third consecutive game.
Callaway dominated the girls’ game as well on the way to a 66-49 win.
Kierra Jackson and Gabrielle Johnson led Callaway with 15 points, and Jasmine Dukes added eight points.
Niakoe Burks contributed seven points, and she grabbed 12 rebounds.
Callaway (7-8 overall) improved to 4-2 in region play.
Callaway’s teams visit Temple today before hosting rival Heard County on Friday.
