Academy teams fall in regular-season finales

LaGrange Academy’s teams wrapped up the regular season by falling to visiting Oak Mountain on Friday night.

In the boys’ game, Oak Mountain pulled away late for a 54-41 victory.

Terence Broaden made a pair of 3-pointers and scored 16 points, and Treyveon Reeves added 12 points.

In the girls’ game, it was Oak Mountain getting past LaGrange Academy 58-37.

Kayla McBride led LaGrange Academy with 12 points, Kelsey Cotton added nine points, and Ivey Portis made two 3-pointers and scored eight points.

On Thursday, LaGrange Academy’s teams were on the road against Solid Rock.

LaGrange Academy’s girls’ team secured a 40-27 win, with McBride and Portis leading the way with 13 and 10 points, respectively.

In the boys’ game, Solid Rock topped LaGrange Academy 82-51.

Broaden scored 11 points for the Warriors, and Riley Hiss contributed nine points.
