Fragrant flowers filled the air Thursday during the celebration of a new location for a local florist.

On Thursday, the LaGrange-Troup County Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting for the new location of Jane Rogers’ By Special Arrangement. Rogers has been a chamber member since 1995 and recently moved several miles down the road from her former location. The floral shop is now located in Bridgewood Center on Mooty Bridge Road.

“I’d like to thank everyone for their patronage,” Rogers said. “It’s been nice making memories with people and sharing in their special events — good and bad.”

Even as a small crowd gathered in the front of the shop, phone calls came in for more flower orders and more chances to make memories. 

“I’ve known Jane for many, many years, and she has brought joy to our family as well as our community,” said Martha Pirkle, vice chair of membership for the LaGrange-Troup County Chamber of Commerce. “There is nothing more gratifying than to have somebody knock at your door and have a Jane Rogers delivery to your house or your office. Or to walk into an event and know it is so elegant, beautiful and festive because she has touched it. It has her touch, and you know that when she does it, she puts so much of her heart into [it].”

Rogers said that getting to know people has been the best part about working in LaGrange.

“Just meeting people and forming a bond with them in happy times and sad times [has been my favorite part] — helping them with their needs,” Rogers said. 

That passion for her customers shows in her work.

“What Jane does it, it is perfection because I can tell from the flowers,” said Bobby Traylor, a chamber diplomat.

Page Estes, the president of the LaGrange-Troup County Chamber of Commerce, said that Rogers’ support of other local businesses has also set her apart. 

“This is a great story of a small business owner who came into the community, started a business, joined the chamber, has thrived and continued to see the value in terms of making sure that she supports local businesses,” Estes said. 

“In turn, those local businesses have supported her. This is a great, fresh new start at this new location, so we are thrilled that she was able to let us be a part of it.”
