Mr. Stanford McCord, Sr. passed away Wednesday.

He was born April 12, 1946 in Gabbettville, Georgia to the late Eddie Mae Walker and Eddie McCord.

He united with the Thankful Baptist Church, graduated from East Depot High School, served in the US Army; and was previously employed by Troup County Sheriff’s Department.

Survivors include two daughters:  Sean Moore and Sharon (Gene) Allen; one son, Stanford McCord, Jr.; seven grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; four brothers:  Jimmy (Louise) McCord, Alford (Lulu) McCord, Gene McCord, and Mark McCord; two sisters:  Mildred Rutledge and Clyde McCord; and a host of relatives and friends.

The Service will be Sunday at 2:00 PM at Thankful Baptist Church.

The family will be at their home at 302 Fair Street.

The excellent care of Mr. McCord is being provided by Lakes-Dunson-Robertson Funeral Home.
