Tough opener for Tigers

CARROLLTON – It was one of those days for the Troup Tigers.
Facing home-standing Carrollton in its season opener, Troup gave up 12 runs in the first three innings on the way to a 12-0 loss.
The game was shortened to four innings because of the run rule.
Troup struggled in the field, committing eight errors which led to seven unearned runs.
Troup was limited to three hits by five Carrollton pitchers.
Troup will look for a better result on Friday when it visits Northside-Columbus.
SOCCER: LaGrange High’s soccer teams walked away with hard-earned road wins over Bremen on Tuesday.
In the girls’ game, LaGrange edged Bremen 1-0 to even its record at 1-1.
Hana Sato scored LaGrange’s lone goal on an assist from Caroline Thompson.
That goal came midway through the first half.
In the boys’ game, LaGrange improved to 2-0 with a 3-1 victory over Bremen.
Logan Lopez, Jimmy Cancino and Tripp Hollstrom each scored goals, and John McDonald had three assists.
Jack DeVane, Cason Blackburn and Butler Evans all spent time in goal for LaGrange.
