Walmart D.C. donates funds to Alpha Multipurpose Center

Last month, the Alpha Multipurpose Center received a $1,500 donation from the Walmart Distribution Center in LaGrange.
According to a member of the board of directors, the funds will be used to assist the students who are mentored at the center with scholarships to graduating seniors of the program to attend college, go on educational field trips and training material.
The Alpha Center offers after school mentoring programs that assists students with making good choices, peer pressure, planning for college, harmful effects of drugs and alcohol just to name a few.
Each week at the Alpha Center, under the direction of Mr. Oliver N. Greene Sr. conducts these workshops along with other board members and partners from the community such as the LaGrange Police Department, the Boys & Girls Club and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Theta Nu Lambda Chapter seated in LaGrange.
