Pure Life Studios will feature Georgia Musicians in two different formats on Friday and Saturday during Writers Round.

A Writers Round on Friday night will consist of three singer/songwriters playing songs consecutively with improvisational moments and stories. On Saturday, a blues band will perform. Both shows are at Pure Life Studios and start at 7:30 p.m.

On Friday, Writers Round will feature Kyle Clark, Josh Bricker and Charlie Hudgins.

Kyle Clark, a country singer and songwriter, released his first EP in 2017 called “Small Town Dreamin’ Big,” which charted on iTunes Top 100 Country Albums. Following the release, Kyle was the winner of Kick’s 101.5 Nash Next Atlanta competition (2017 & 2018) and opened for some of country music’s finest, such as Darius Rucker, Randy Houser, and Kane Brown.

Josh Bricker is a Nashville recording country music artist from Columbus, whose alma mater is LaGrange College. Bricker now makes Athens his home and his sound is a raw country melded with a mix of new and classic country. He writes his own music and believes in telling stories with his music. Bricker has had two songs on country radio with one reaching the top of the chart. He is also a silver award winner in the Nashville Music City Songstar.

Charlie Hudgins is a singer/songwriter from Franklin and has been in the music scene since 2014. He was recently interviewed and performed live on Eagle 102.3 radio station. He is constantly touring the Southeast, trying to reach as many people as he possibly can. He plans to relocate to Nashville soon to further pursue his music career.

“One of my favorite aspects of the venue is hearing new talent and sharing the discovery with other venue owners I have met over the last few years,” said Maggie McDonald, owner of Pure Life Studios. “I guess it’s a ‘I knew them when’ thing as well as just enjoying the rawness of a show that is eager and ambitious. Don’t get me wrong, I thoroughly enjoy when an artist has honed their show to a flawless masterpiece, but the sheer joy – and terror – of a young artist is a beautiful thing.”

On Saturday, Skyler Saufley and The 99th Degree will perform. Saufley is a powerhouse blues guitarist and has been playing and studying the blues with the sole purpose of preserving its history and maintaining the legacy left behind by the blues legends before him. He draws comparison from his captivated audiences to the likes of Eric Clapton, as his reputation expands with everyone he meets. His band, The 99th Degree, includes some of the most sought-after talent in the blues music industry. No matter the era or style, Skyler infuses every song with a measure of soul, calling on influences like Freddie King, Otis Rush, and Buddy Guy.

The concerts are at Pure Life Studios, located at 206 Clark St. in the Hillside neighborhood of LaGrange. Doors open at 7 p.m. and music starts at 7:30 p.m. The concerts are $15 each show (cash only at the door) or visit Purelifelagrange.com to secure a ticket. Pure Life Studios is brown-bag approved, and coolers are welcome.
