The LaGrange Police Department is investigating an overnight shooting on Cox Street.

According to a LPD press release, officers responded to 123 Cox Street at 11:33 p.m. and located a resident of the home suffering from a gunshot to the leg and arm. The man was transported to WellStar West Georgia Medical Center and later to a Columbus area hospital for treatment.

According to the press release, the initial investigation revealed that two black males wearing dark clothing entered the home and got into a physical altercation with the victim before shooting him.

The suspects ran from the scene toward North Greenwood Street after the incident. Police located evidence of illegal drug use and distribution at the incident scene, according to the press release.
