LaGrange falls to South Forsyth

South Forsyth busted things open late on the way to a 15-1 victory over LaGrange on Friday night in the final game of the day in the LaGrange Toyota Invitational.
LaGrange fell to 0-2 in the tournament, and it will finish pool play with a game against Trinity Christian today at 10 a.m.
LaGrange will play a place game later today, either at 4:30 p.m. or 7 p.m.
Friday’s game was close through five innings, with South Forsyth clinging to a 2-1 lead.
After extended the lead to 6-1 on a Tyler Cowan grand slam in the sixth inning, South Forsyth plated nine runs in the top of the seventh.
Brant Williams was LaGrange’s starting pitcher, and he worked into the sixth inning, allowing three earned runs on three hits.
Williams held South Forsyth scoreless through the first three innings.
Mason Green, Sam Yates and Blake Hadaway also pitched for LaGrange.
Will Alford and Charles Crawford had LaGrange’s two hits, and Mason Green had an RBI on a sacrifice fly in the fourth inning.
Cowan powered South Forsyth’s offense with two home runs and five RBIs, and Dylan Mazzei had two hits and two RBIs.
Cowan also got it done on the mound with six innings to get the win.
