Trinity Christian was the top dog.

The LaGrange Toyota Invitational wrapped up early Sunday morning, and it was Trinity Christian (Fla.) surging past Brookwood 7-3 to take the top spot.

Trinity Christian and Brookwood both won their four-team pools to earn a spot in the championship game.

Trinity Christian was trailing by a run when it scored three runs in the top of the fourth inning to take a lead it wouldn’t relinquish.

Trinity Christian won its four-team pool with a 3-0 record, while Brookwood finished tied with Providence for the top spot in its pool with a 2-1 record.

Brookwood, by virtue of the tie-breaker, earned a spot in the championship game against Trinity Christian.

Trinity Christian banged out 10 hits with two home runs to keep Brookwood from winning the championship for a second straight year.

Kishon Frett had two hits, including a home run, and he drove in three runs.

Matt Crump had Trinity Christian’s other home run, and he had two hits and two RBIs.

Bryce Janney pitched 5 1/3 innings to get the win, and David Wallace threw the final 1 1/3 innings.

Janney and Wallace held Brookwood to four hits.

In the third-place game, Providence outlasted South Forsyth 7-6, and Mobile Christian handled Niceville 13-5 in the fifth-place game.

Buford beat LaGrange 10-1 to finish seventh.
