The Lafayette Christian School Cougars eased past CrossPointe Christian 10-0 on a cool, blustery Monday afternoon at the George F. Harris Baseball Complex.

Three pitchers combined for the two-hit shutout, and the Cougars banged out 10 hits in a game shortened to six innings because of the run rule.

After scoring single runs in each of the first three innings, the Cougars broke it open with five runs in the bottom of the fifth before ending the game with two runs in the sixth inning.

Nathan Karvelas was the Cougars’ starting pitcher, and he gave up three hits with four strikeouts during his three innings.

Next to the mound was Brock Tumlin, and he threw two hitless innings with a pair of strikeouts.

Cameron Elliott finished things off with a perfect sixth inning, and he only needed 12 pitches to get three outs.

Cason Firth and Tumlin each had two hits and an RBI for the Cougars, and Levi Spears had a double and two RBIs.

Tanner Jackson and Matthew Brooks each had a hit and an RBI, and Landon Bush and Nathan Karvelas each had a double.

Lafayette Christian (2-2) will be at home against Central Christian on Thursday before traveling to Peachtree City to play The Campus on Friday.
