Callaway falls at Brookstone

COLUMBUS – The Callaway Cavaliers had their hands full with a strong Brookstone squad on Thursday.

Brookstone took the lead with three runs in the bottom of the first inning, and it went on to capture a 7-4 victory.

The Cavaliers enjoyed some offensive success with eight hits, with leadoff hitter Drake Wade leading the way with three hits.

Bryce Kurian had two hits and an RBI, and Trent Sheppard also had two hits

Braelin Mitchell had a hit and two walks.

Walt Stewart and Austin Barber each pitched three innings for Callaway.

Jeremiah Burgess powered the Brookstone offensive attack with three hits, including a triple and a double, and Ben Sloan had a home run.

Trey Sanders pitched five innings to get the win, and Jack Little worked the final two innings for the save.

Callaway visits LaGrange on Friday, with first pitch set for 5:55 p.m.
