Talk about finishing in style.
The Lafayette Christian School Cougars were holding a four-run lead when they came to bat in the bottom of the sixth inning of Tuesday’s game against Holy Ground at the Harris Baseball Complex.
The Cougars promptly put six runs on the board to ease to an 11-1 victory in a game that ended early because of the run rule.
It was the fifth consecutive win for the Cougars, who improved to 5-2.
Cason Firth and Landon Bush each had two hits and an RBI for the Cougars, and Nathan Karvelas and Brock Tumlin each had a hit and two RBIs.
Tanner Jackson had a hit and one RBI, and Ty Spradlin knocked in a run.
Jacob Karvelas, Adam Barnett and Devin Lindsey each had a hit.
On the mound, Nathan Karvelas got the start, and he was sharp, holding Holy Ground to six hits and one run while striking out five in 4 1/3 innings.
Jacob Karvelas finished things off the mound with a 1 2/3 scoreless innings.
Lafayette Christian will host The Campus on Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
