The Troup County Board of Commissioners recognized several longtime county employees for their service on Tuesday.
Among those honored were Fire Lieutenant/EMT Thomas Waldroup, Fire Sergeant/EMT Mark Webb were both honored for 30 years of service, Firefighter/EMT Steven Jackson and Fire Sergeant/EMT Jeffery Veal. Combined those four firefighters have more than 100 years of experience and time spent serving this community.
Troup County Sheriff’s Office Mike Ellington was also honored for 25 years of service, as were several other county employees.
We thank them all for the time they’ve spent working in this community, helping others that are often experiencing a bad day or tragedy.
Not many people would want to do their jobs and not many can.
Others were also honored, including Valerie West, county clerk and executive assistant to the board of commissioners. West’s work behind the scenes often goes unnoticed by the general public, but she’s integral in keeping county leaders organized and on top of things.
Thank you all for your service.
