Spring break for Troup County Schools begins on Saturday, which means there will be more people on the road this weekend, but there will still be several options for those remaining in town.

Pure Life Studios will kick off the weekend on Friday, with a performance by Alaina Magee. Magee has performed previously as part of Pure Life’s teen program, and she plans to release a five-song EP in April. Her music has been described as a dark, soulful and vocally driven mix of pop, rhythm and blues. Magee is currently a student at LaGrange College where she is majoring in composition and music technology. Admission is free with a student ID, $10 at the door or $11.50 online.

On Saturday, Artisans on the Square in Greenville will host the last day of its exhibit of Annie Greene’s exhibit titled “What Color is Water: Growing Up Black in a Segregated South.” The exhibit is scheduled to tour Georgia following its stop in Greenville. The gallery will be open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. To learn more, visit Artisansonthesquare.gallery or call (404) 386-1328.

On Saturday night, Jon Shain and FJ Ventre will perform at Pure Life Studios. Shain is a bluegrass, swing and ragtime singer-songwriter with a piedmont blues style. His album, “Getting’ Handy with the Blues — a Tribute to the Legacy of WC Handy,” was released in 2018. For more information, visit Purelifelagrange.com or call (706) 443-4838.
