LaGrange tennis teams place second

LaGrange High’s tennis teams each earned second-place finishes in the Region 5-AAAA tournament that finished on Thursday.
Cartersville beat LaGrange in both of the championship matches.
The girls’ championship match was a tight one, with Cartersville outlasting LaGrange 3-2.
In the boys’ title match, Cartersville won 3-0, and the final two matches were pulled after the outcome had been decided.
GIRLS
Cartersville 3, LaGrange 2
No. 1 singles – Ashley Popham (C) beat Wone Mi Oh, 6-0, 6-0
No. 2 singles – Emily Bush (C) beat Annie Pauley, 6-1, 6-3
No. 3 singles – Louise Dodson (L) beat Chloe Satterfield, 6-2, 6-3
No. 1 doubles – Lydia Wiedetz and Alice Terry (C) beat Lizzie Wilkerson and Sydney Edelson, 6-4, 6-4
No. 2 doubles – Kaylee Key and Ella Eiland (L) beat Mia Shaw and Mason Cline, 6-4, 6-2
BOYS
Cartersville 3, LaGrange 0
No. 1 singles – Will Allen (C) beat Pierce Skinner, 6-7 (5-7) ,6-3, 6-0
No. 2 singles – Luke Kottemann (C) beat Jinseong Jun, 6-1, 6-3
No. 3 singles – Baker Skinner (L) vs. Griffin Shaw. Skinner won first set, and Shaw won second set 7-6 (7-5). Match was pulled.
No. 1 doubles – James Lee and Youngha Cho (L) vs. Nate McDonald and Luke Gambill. Lee and Cho won first set 6-2, and McDonald and Gambill won second set 6-2. Lee and Cho were leading third set 5-4 when match was pulled
No. 2 doubles – John Blackhall and Jackson Cline (C) beat Cole Crocker and Albert Kim, 6-4, 6-3
