LaGrange College’s softball team will try to keep its season alive today.
LaGrange College will visit Huntingdon in the opening round of the USA South tournament.
The best-of-three series begins with a doubleheader today, and if needed, a third and deciding game would be played on Saturday.
LaGrange College is the number four seed in the USA South West division, while Huntingdon is the third seed from the West division.
The winner of the series will play either William Peace or Averett on April 26 at Shuford Fields in LaGrange.
The tournament continues through April 28, with the winner earning an automatic invitation to the NCAA Division III tournament.
LaGrange College and Huntingdon played twice in the regular season.
Huntingdon won the doubleheader at LaGrange College by scores of 8-0 and 2-3
LaGrange College closed the regular season by splitting a doubleheader with Judson on Tuesday.
After winning the first game 5-4, LaGrange College dropped the second game 5-3 to close the regular season with a 15-15 record.
The Panthers finished the regular season with a 7-7 USA South record.
In game one of the Judson series, Taylor Long had two hits, including a two-run home run.
Brittany Todd was on base five times with four hits, including two doubles, and she also walked.
Sydney Hodorff had a hit and two RBIs, Haley Coleman had a hit and an RBI, Lauren DeLoach had a hit and two walks, and Kelsey Dietz and Riley Densmore had one hit apiece.
Natalie Glass held Judson to two hits and an unearned run in 3 2/3 innings to get the win.
In the second game, Long hit another home run, a solo shot, and she also had an RBI double.
Michaela Keel had a hit and an RBI, Kelsey Dietz had a double, and Brittany Todd, Lauren DeLoach, Haley Coleman and Riley Densmore each had a hit.
