DALTON – The LaGrange Lady Grangers are moving on.
LaGrange’s girls’ tennis team had no trouble with Heritage-Catoosa in the second round of the Class AAAA state tournament on Monday.
Once LaGrange won the three matches needed to secure the victory, the final two matches were pulled.
Next up for LaGrange will be a familiar opponent, Columbus.
Columbus, which played LaGrange earlier this season in a tournament on Jekyll Island, will host the quarterfinal match later this week.
In Monday’s match, LaGrange won one singles match, and both of the doubles matches to earn the win.
LaGrange was leading in the other two singles matches, but they weren’t played to conclusion.
At number one singles, Wone Mi Oh won 6-4, 6-2.
In the number one doubles match, Lizzie Wilkerson and Sydney Edelson won 6-2, 6-0, and Kaylee Key and Ella Eiland prevailed 6-3, 6-2 at number two doubles.
Annie Pauley was leading 6-3, 5-3 at number two singles, and Louise Dodson was up 7-6 (8-6), 2-1 at number three singles.
