LaGrange splits with Stephens

The LaGrange Grangers split their state-playoff doubleheader with Stephens County on Wednesday, forcing a third and deciding game today.

After winning the first game 6-3, LaGrange lost the second game 12-3.

In the first game, Matthew Morgan and Landon Tucker combined for a six-hitter.

Tucker was terrific in relief, holding Stephens County to one hit and no runs in 2 2/3 innings.

Wesley Kuhn had two hits and two RBIs for LaGrange, and Trent Bailey had two hits and one RBI.

Walton Lanier had a hit and an RBI, Will Alford had a double, and Charles Crawford had a base hit.

In the second game, LaGrange had a 3-0 lead after the first inning, but the rest of the game belonged to Stephens County.

Will Flowers had a hit and two RBIs for the Grangers, Bailey and Kuhn each had a hit, and Morgan drove in a run.
