They took care of business in the regular season, and now the LaGrange Lady Grangers will look to make a run in the state playoffs.

LaGrange, after winning a third consecutive Region 5-AAAA championship, will be at home today for its opening game in the 32-team Class AAAA state soccer playoffs.

LaGrange’s opponent will be Stephens County, which finished fourth in Region 8-AAAA.

The game will begin at 6:30 p.m. at Callaway Stadium.

If LaGrange survives today’s game, it will be back at Callaway Stadium on Wednesday to play either Blessed Trinity or Northwest Whitfield.

LaGrange would also host the quarterfinals and the semifinals, and its only road game in the playoffs would be in the championship game.

Also today, the Callaway Lady Cavaliers will try to win a state-playoff game for a third consecutive year.

Callaway, the number three team from Region 5-AA, will visit Oglethorpe County, which finished second in Region 8-AA.

The winner will face either Washington or Model.
