Verbal dispute leads to alleged stabbing on Callaway Avenue

A woman has been arrested after an alleged stabbing Friday night on Callaway Avenue.

According to a LaGrange Police Department press release, officers dispatched to the 700 block of Callaway Avenue just before midnight and met with the victim, who was being treated for a puncture wound on her left arm. The victim told police that she had been stabbed by her girlfriend, Canthra Penn, during a verbal dispute. Investigators determined there were two children at home at the time of the incident.

Penn had left the scene but was located, arrested and charged with aggravated assault (FVA) and two counts of cruelty to a child third degree. The victim was transported to WellStar West Georgia Medical Center, where she was treated for her injures.
