Nominations being taken for annual 20 Under 40 list

Published 4:00 am Wednesday, May 1, 2019

The LaGrange Daily News is now accepting nominations for its second annual 20 Under 40 class of LaGrange and Troup County community leaders.

2018 was the LaGrange Daily News’ inaugural year for this publication, which was well-received by the community. To ensure the most comprehensive list of young leaders is selected for this year’s edition, the newspaper is conducting a community-wide vote for the class of 2019, allowing our subscribers and community members to nominate their deserving friends, family and co-workers for consideration in this section.

As a refresher, the LDN’s annual 20 Under 40 special section highlights a group of 20 community leaders under the age of 40 who are serving their community in important and influential ways. These individuals can be serving in any number of fields, including the fields of business, civic service, religion, education, health and wellness and/or athletics. The definition is intentionally left broad to ensure we can include a comprehensive list of community leaders.

In the inaugural edition, the newspaper selected these leaders. This year, we are asking for your help to select the 2019 class.

Nominees must primarily conduct business in Troup County, Georgia and be under age 40 as of May 1, 2019.

The deadline for nominations is May 24 and winners will be notified the following week. Names will not be made public until the 20 Under 40 special section is published in July 2019. To nominate someone, click here.

Directions for submitting nominations are below:

  • You must complete the entire nomination form. Incomplete forms will not be considered.
  • Self-nominations are allowed. However, a verifiable reference is required in order for self-nominations to qualify.
  • Please include details in your nominations. Avoid simply saying a nominee is a “good,” “hard-working” or a “kind” person. Add examples and anecdotes.
