No injuries were reported in a Wednesday morning structure fire at 1514 Brownwood Avenue.

At 1:48 a.m. on Wednesday, the LaGrange Fire Department was dispatched to the report of a structure fire at 1514 Brownwood Avenue.

According to a City of LaGrange press release, LaGrange Police Department officers arrived on the scene prior to the arrival of the fire department reporting that smoke and flames were showing.

LaGrange Fire Department units reportedly arrived on the scene, making an interior attack and quickly extinguishing the fire, which was located in the kitchen of apartment B. The structure is a duplex with A and B sides. The fire was called under control at 2:17 a.m.

According to the press release, structural damage and contents lost from the fire were approximately $10,000, and the Red Cross was contacted to assist the family.

The cause is under investigation by the LaGrange Fire Department.
