Hills & Dales Estate’s 12th annual Picnic in the Garden will take place on Saturday, June 8 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Estate’s Pecan Grove.

The event — which is open to all ages — was originally scheduled for May 11 but was postponed due to predicted thunderstorms.

“I think that [the Picnic in the Garden] is wonderful,” said Christy Gresley, the communications manager at Hills & Dales. “It’s actually become a long-standing tradition with many families in the community and around the region.”

At the event, kids will have the option to participate in fun, outdoor activities.

“We will have free mini-horse rides for children, and we’ll have old-fashioned yard games such as croquet, bocce ball and horseshoe,” Gresley said.

There will also be a cake walk, a juggler, face painting and live music from local band Front Porch Collective.

“All of this is free to anyone who brings a picnic blanket and a picnic lunch,” Gresley said. “We’ll also be giving out prizes for the best spread.”

The public is invited and encouraged to attend this family-friendly event as an opportunity to spend time with loved ones while also enjoying the beauty of nature.

“It reminds families of a time when they were able to spend time together, enjoying the outdoors and enjoying each other’s company,” Gresley said.
