After a year of planning, executing designs and preparing for a new build, Summit Urgent Care has opened a sixth location, now in LaGrange.

“It’s the home of our founder, and a lot of our leadership team lives in Troup County and are a part of this community. We felt like it was time,” said Chief Operations Officer Sammy Karvelas. “LaGrange was the next best step. It’s a great community to be a part of. We definitely felt they could benefit from the type of urgent care experience we provide.”

Summit began its urgent care journey after opening its first location in Newnan in 2013. Now, almost a month later after opening, Medical Director Mike Duchynski said they are seeing growth every week.

“We have an awesome staff here,” Duchynski said. “It has been great. I really think the more people that do come and experience the Summit brand, the more loyal they will become because we have such a quality facility and experience.”

Operating 365 days a year for all ages, Summit in LaGrange offers the ability to take a high influx of both regular and occupational patients, as well as ER trained employees, blood work, resident nurses, x-ray services and more, according to Duchynski.

“Things went really smoothly when opening,” Duchynski said. “Both of our providers were really excited to get down here. Things have gone off without a hitch and LaGrange, and the city employees have been extremely supportive of us.”

Not only do they offer an extensive list of services in house but are also able to travel to employers and go on site if an employer needs it.

“If there is a large hire phase for an employer with drug screenings or physicals, we can go to them,” Karvelas said.

From a medical standpoint Duchynski said that the facility’s main goal is to make sure its patients are taken care of.

“We want to provide excellent medical care with a real high level of customer service in a community where we are excited about being,” Duchynski said.

“I want everyone to walk out of here happy and excited. If you need something taken care of, we can help.”

Attitude and customer service are a large part of the Summit brand, according to Karvelas.

“We always put ourselves in a position to take care of the customer and work hard to give an excellent level of care,” Karvelas said.

Along with its multiple services, patients can also obtain their prescriptions in house. Located at 1524 Lafayette Parkway in LaGrange, Summit Urgent Care is open Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sundays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
