Deacon Gary Lamar Rutledge

Gary Lamar Rutledge passed away Monday. He was born March 31, 1957 in Troup County, Georgia, to Mrs. Mildred McCord Rutledge and the late, Lewis Rutledge. He graduated from Troup High School, Class of 1976; was previously employed by West Point Stephens, Valway,  Baker Battery, and Olen Hazel Starter and Alternator Shop before starting his own business, Hamilton Road Rebuilder Shop. He served as a Deacon at Zion Hill Baptist Church Troup.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Rutledge; two daughters:  Keko (LaQuincy) Shepherd, LaGrange, GA; Nefertiti (Darrell) LeBeaux, Birmingham, AL; two sons:  Gary (Tara) Rutledge, Jr. and Seneca (Michelle Gibson) Rutledge, both of LaGrange, GA; ten grandchildren; mother, Mrs. Mildred Rutledge; mother-in-law, Helen Woodyard; four sisters:  Beulah (Larry) Hill, Janice Moore, Louvenia Rutledge, Edna (Steve Cutwright) Rutledge; one brother, Lewis “Buddy” Rutledge, Jr., two brothers-in-law:  Donald (Earnestine) Woodyard and David (Helen) Woodyard; six uncles, nine aunts, and an array of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

The service will be Monday at 1:00 p.m. at Bethlehem Baptist Church.  The family will be at their home at 1086 Cannonville Road and will receive friends at Zion Hill Baptist Church on Sunday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
