Mr. James “Jamie” Eugene Thomas

Mr. James “Jamie” Eugene Thomas, age 57 of LaGrange, passed away on Friday, June 28, 2019 at his home, surrounded by his family.

Jamie, born Aug. 25, 1961, in LaGrange, was the son of Mr. Horace Worthmn Thomas Sr. and the late Lillian Oneida “Nita” Williams Thomas. He was a previous assistant manager at Arby’s of LaGrange, and also served in a Southern Gospel music ministry, volunteering at several local nursing homes. He enjoyed going to movies every week with his brother Junior, niece Alyssa, and his uncle, James Stapler of Opelika, AL. He enjoyed taking his nieces and nephews to see his favorite contemporary Christian artists in concert, such as TobyMac, Newsboys, Twenty One Pilots, Jordan Feliz, Colton Dixon, Hollyn and Mandisa. Jamie loved spending time with his family and made friends everywhere he went. He posted on Facebook, “What God Says About Me Is The Only Thing That Matters! I LOVE Jesus, Family and My Cats!” His cats, Jaspurr, Precious and Trixy-girl, were his babies!

Survivors include his father, Mr. Horace W. Thomas Sr. of LaGrange; his brother and sister-in-love, Horace W. Thomas Jr. and his wife Deborah, of LaGrange; his sister and brother-in-love, LeeAnn Mullis and her fiancé Anthony Shohoudy of Villa Rica; his half-brother, Vestal Thomas and his wife Martha, of LaGrange; his nieces, and nephews, Kyle Thomas and Jeremy Thomas, both of LaGrange, Brian Thomas and his wife Jessica, along with their son Braxton, all of Lanett, Alabama, Alyssa Mullis of LaGrange, Callie Mullis, Caleb Mullis, Nadia Shohoudy and Lily Mullis, all of Villa Rica, Georgia, and Lorrie Thomas of Atlanta, Georgia, along with her daughters, Julia and Megan, and grandson, Adriel.

Funeral services were held Monday, July 1, 2019, at 1 p.m. at Faith Baptist Church in LaGrange, Georgia, with the Reverends, Donald Yancey, Brad Thompson and Olin White officiating. Interment followed at Restlawn Memory Gardens.
