Car break-ins result in multiple arrests

Several calls about car break-ins on Mooty Bridge Road and LaFayette Parkway led to the arrest of three men on Wednesday morning, as well as the recovery of numerous stolen items.

According to LPD, three adult males and two juveniles were involved in the break-ins. All three of the adults — LaQuincy Woodard, 18, Bravian Elder, 20, D’Avanta Parks, 19,  — were arrested and charged with theft by receiving stolen property and criminal attempt entering auto.

The LPD responded to calls Wednesday from residents at the Valley Ridge Apartments and Laurel Crossing Apartments at approximately 5:30 a.m. Officers were able to find and pull over a small red car, which matched the description of the one used in the break-ins.

Officers recovered the firearms and other property that been reportedly stolen from cars in Troup and Merriweather County within the past 30 days, according to the release.
