A special summer came to close for the Georgia-Troup County all-stars.

In an elimination game in the Dixie Youth Baseball 9-10-year-old World Series, Georgia fell to Mississippi 11-7 on Tuesday.

Georgia finished with a 2-2 record in the World Series, and it placed in the top half of the 12-team tournament.

Earlier in the summer, Troup County won the district tournament and the state tournament to advance to the World Series.

At the World Series, Georgia opened with a pair of one-run thrillers over South Carolina and Tennessee.

Georgia fell into the loser’s bracket with a 9-4 loss to Florida on Monday, and it was eliminated with Tuesday’s loss.

Georgia finished the summer with a 12-3 record, and it had won 11 consecutive games before losing on Monday.
