A bystander was shot Thursday night following a verbal altercation between two men, according to the LaGrange Police Department.

Officers were dispatched to McGregor Street at approximately 11:54 p.m. after an altercation between Timothy Hill, 52, and Frank Grier when Hill attempted to shoot Grier.

“There were two male parties and a female was accidentally shot in the process,” said LPD Sgt. William Nelson. “We are not sure of the dynamics, but we do know the man who is wanted is in a domestic relationship with the woman.”

According to a press release from LPD, when officers arrived on the scene both Grier and Hill had fled the area. Warrants for Hill have been released, and Grier is being actively sought for questioning.

The victim was taken to West Georgia Medical Center and was treated for non-life threatening injures.

This case is still under investigation and anyone with information regarding this case or the whereabouts of Hill or Grier is asked to contact Detective Brian Brown with the LaGrange Police Department at (706) 883-2603 or Troup County Crime Stoppers at (706) 812-1000.
