Mr. Douglas “Pelo” Russell

Douglas “Pelo” Russell passed away Wednesday. He was born Aug. 7, 1942, in LaGrange, Georgia to the late, John Dewey Russell, Sr. and Elmira Russell. He retired from the LaGrange Housing Authority.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Russell; seven daughters:  Aronda (Eric) Robinson, Consandra (DeWayne) Wade, Alfreda (Carl) Edmondson, Ylinda (Carl) Hyde, Vivian Sessions, Veda (Kenneth) Pearson and Rena Sessions; four sons, Ricky Dozier, Jake Sessions, Jewayne Sessions and David Sessions; grandchildren; great grandchildren; three sisters, Betty Jackson of Stone Mountain, Georgia; Doris Russell and Judy Russell, both of LaGrange, Georgia; two brothers, John Russell Jr., Romulus MI; and Louis Russell, Austell, Georgia; sister-in-law, Shirley (Robert) Brown; brothers-in-law,  William Hill and Robert (Chris) Hill; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and a special nurse.

The service will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at St. James CME Church.

The excellent care of Mr. Russell is being provided by Lakes-Dunson-Robertson Funeral Home.
