Troup County’s first school-year weekend will include plenty of events for families.

Saturday’s events will include the monthly Super Saturday event at the LaGrange Art Museum from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event is free and will include an art project for participants to take part in.

The City of LaGrange Animal Shelter will host a Clear the Shelter adoption event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Several cats and dogs will be up for adoption and the adoption fee will be waived. All animals are spayed and neutered and will have their vaccines and a microchip.

The Not Just for Kicks kickball tournament will be held at Shuford Field from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Registration for participating teams will be at 7 a.m. All proceeds from the event will benefit the First Choice Women’s Center.

Country artist Charlie Hudgins and guests will rock the Pure Life Studios in honor of his new album. The launch party will begin at 7:30 p.m. and last until 9:30 p.m.

Finally, on Saturday, the LaGrange chapter of Sleep in Heavenly Peace will host a community bed building session from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Sweetwater Amphitheatre. No skills or tools are required, and the event is safe for children to attend.
