The Troup Lady Tigers staged a late-game rally to beat Sandy Creek 18-8 on Thursday on a Region 5-AAAA softball showdown.

Trailing 8-6, Troup pushed five runs across in the top of the sixth inning to take the lead, and it exploded for seven more runs in the seventh inning.

Maggie McDonald had two hits and three RBIs for Troup, and Olivia McInvale had two hits and two RBIs.

Caroline McInvale had two triples and an RBI, Hadleigh Livingston had two hits and an RBI, Casey Sani had a hit and two RBIs, and Avery Pearson, Sage Loftin and Kaleigh Rutland each had a hit and an RBI.

Skye Loftin had an RBI, and Lainey Braswell had a hit.

McDonald pitched the complete-game victory.
