The LaGrange Lady Grangers are flying high.
After dropping a pair of one-run game to begin their Region 5-AAAA schedule, the Lady Grangers have evened their region record with two blowout wins.
After blanking Troup 11-0 on Tuesday, LaGrange eased past visiting Sandy Creek 8-0 on Thursday.
The Lady Grangers were limited to three hits in Thursday’s game, but they made the most of them.
Abby Vanhoose had a two-run home run in the fourth inning, and Madison Dennis had a hit and two RBIs.
Holly Lynn also had a hit for LaGrange, Malone Aldridge had two RBIs, and Macee Stone drove in a run.
Camden Smith, who threw a no-hitter in the win over Troup, had her way with Sandy Creek’s batters.
Smith pitched a five-inning one-hitter, and she had 12 strikeouts and no walks.
LaGrange started quickly with five runs in the first inning, and it added a single run in the third inning and two more in the fourth.
LaGrange, which has won five in a row overall, hosts defending region-champion Chapel Hill on Tuesday.
