Harvest Revival coming to LaGrange

There are still months to go, but a local group is already preparing for a major event on Oct. 31 at 7 p.m. at Faith Baptist Church.
Revival Barn Ministries plans to host Harvest Revival on Halloween, and organizers said that they hope the event will take back the day for God.
“For a little over 10 years, my husband and I have had this vision for ministry, and it hadn’t come to pass until we came to LaGrange, and we got a green light from the Lord,” said Ory Gari, one of the group’s founders. “He put a lot of really good people in my path that helped us to establish the ministry and to get 501©3 status.”
Gari said that the event was possible because of connections formed through Kingdom Community, which is how the group was able to find a location for the event.
“It will be a great event,” said Teara Harris, who is on the board.
Harris said that Harvest Revival will provide an opportunity for Christians to come together and worship with other believers, something she said is a major need in the community.
Revival Barn is still looking for additional sponsorships to help make the free community event a success, but its organizers are excited for its potential to serve as an alternative to Halloween night activities.
“It should belong to Christ. It is a day that the Lord has made, so it is a day that we will gather, and we will praise and worship him,” Gari said.
Gari said Revival Barn hopes to educate people on the holiday and reclaim the day in the name of the Lord.
The group also hopes to take part in other outreach projects in the community in the future, including assisting with transportation and food concerns.
