The LaGrange Police Department arrested a 34-year-old male on Sunday for robbery and aggravated assault. 

According to a press release from LPD, officers responded to call on Harwell Avenue to a possible robbery. 

The 30-year-old male victim told officers that Jason Cofield assaulted him, choked him unconscious and took his wallet and cell phone.

The LPD said that after noting a large contusion to the victim’s head and abrasions to his arm and neck, consistent with being assaulted and choked, the Criminal Investigations Section was notified and responded to the scene.

After speaking with several witnesses, officers arrested and charged Cofield with robbery by force and aggravated assault.
