The Lafayette Christian School Cougars put on a show for their fans in their home debut.

Facing Fullington Academy, Lafayette Christian broke open a close game in the third quarter on the way to a 42-0 victory.

Leading 14-0 at the half, the Cougars scored four touchdowns in the third quarter to put it away.

“The third quarter, they changed gears and started doing the things we needed to do to put points on the board,” Lafayette Christian head coach Billy Bryant said.

While the offense turned it up a notch in the third quarter, the defensive effort was there from the get-go.

“The defense excelled tonight,” Bryant said. “They kept us in the game early and set the stage for the second half.”

Cason Firth led the offensive effort for Lafayette Christian with 218 rushing yards, and he scored four touchdowns. Ben Dixon added 86 yards with a long touchdown run, and Jacob Karvelas had 62 rushing yards with a touchdown.
