Mrs. Jean Caudle Smith

Jean Caudle Smith, 89, of LaGrange, GA passed away peacefully early Thursday morning at home.

Mrs. Smith was born August 15, 1930 in Mableton, GA to the late H.B. Caudle and Ruby Williamson Caudle.  She married Ellis Cecil Smith on December 28, 1947 and they spent 72 wonderful years together raising their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, antiquing, farming, and traveling.

Mrs. Smith owned Oakwood Antiques and loved traveling the country buying and selling antiques.  She particularly enjoyed having a booth at the Cashiers Antique Show and Scott Antique Market, where she had many loved customers and fellow antique friends.

Mrs. Smith was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of LaGrange, where she served on the alter guild and was a member of the Mary Will Thompson Sunday School Class.

She is survived by her husband, Ellis Cecil Smith; daughter, Lesia Smith Mikell; son, Ellis Caudle Smith, all of LaGrange, GA; 4 grandchildren, Laura Leigh (Matt) French of LaGrange, GA, Quint (Ryan) Andrews of Atlanta, GA, Anna Jane (Kraig) Streetman of Atlanta, GA, and Ellis Caudle Smith, Jr. of Atlanta, GA; and 7 great grandchildren, Catherine Claire French, Blake French, Ashley Anne French, Davis Andrews, Addie Andrews, Smith Streetman, and Molly Streetman.

Celebration of Life service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 14, 2019 at First United Methodist Church of LaGrange with The Rev. Dr. Gil Watson and The Rev. Dr. John Byers officiating.  Burial will follow in Shadowlawn Cemetery.
