Callaway loses wild one to Heard

The Callaway Cavaliers made things interesting late, but it was Heard County’s softball team walking away with a wild 18-11 victory in a back-and-forth game on Thursday.

Callaway scored 10 runs in the fifth inning to get within a run, but Hear County was able to pull away late for the win.

Leadoff hitter Leijorey Sanders helped lead Calalway with hits and a walk, and she scored three runs.

McKenzie Rhodes had two hits and an RBI, and Alora Vetsavong had a double and two RBIs during the fifth inning.

Alexus Furgerson had a hit and a walk and two RBIs, Tyterria Godwin had a hit, a walk and an RBI, Lindsay Cofield, Aaliyah Morman and Chaple Butler each had an RBI, and Mya Lawton scored a run.
