Mr. Gerald Carlisle, 72, of LaGrange, GA was beckoned into the arms of Jesus on September 22, 2019 from Wellstar West Georgia Hospice.

Mr. Carlisle was born October 2, 1946 in LaGrange, GA to the late Harry Felton Carlisle and Willie Louise Mann Carlisle. He was a graduate of Troup High School and received his Bachelor’s Degree from West Georgia College. Mr. Carlisle was a teacher for Troup School System and retired after 30 years of service from the Troup County Health Department as Senior Health Inspector. He proudly served his country in the United States National Guard. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Vincent Keith Carlisle; and two brothers, Richard Carlisle and Harry Carlisle.

Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years, Susan Virginia Robertson Carlisle; daughter, Lesley and (Andrew) Alexander; brothers, Clifford (Shelia) Carlisle and Phillip Carlisle (fiancé, Charlene Morris); several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The Gathering of Family and Friends will be Thursday, September 26, 2019 from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. at Rosemont Baptist Church. The Celebration of Life Service will follow at 3 p.m. with Pastor Adam Camp and Rev. Max McCord officiating.  Burial will follow in Meadoway Gardens Cemetery.

Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to West Georgia Hospice or The Alzheimer’s Association in memory of Gerald Carlisle.
