Cougars roll to home win

The Lafayette Christian School Cougars broke open a close game in the second half on the way to a 51-22 home win over Georgia Christian.

The Cougars did a lot of damage on the ground, with Ben Dixon and Cason Firth combining for more than 300 rushing yards and five touchdowns.

Dixon ran for 166 yards with three touchdowns, one of which covered 47 yards.

Firth added 139 rushing yards and two touchdowns, and Tyson Karvelas had a 42-yard scoring run.

Quarterback Nathan Fain threw a 42-yard touchdown pass to Nathan Karvelas, and Fain also made a 40-yard field goal.

Lafayette Christian is off next week, and it will host Griffin Christian on Oct. 18.
