LaGrange police search for Cross Creek Drive stabbing suspect

The LaGrange Police Department responded to a stabbing on Sunday morning at approximately 1 a.m. 

According to a press release from LPD, officers arrived to the scene on the 100 block of Cross Creek Drive where they made contact with a 43-year-old female victim who had been stabbed in their shoulder. 

A bystander stated that 45-year-old Yvonne Brumbrey displayed a knife to her after a verbal altercation during a birthday party. The bystander put distance between herself and Brumbrey, but then the victim stepped in the middle of them attempting to deescalate the incident. 

LPD said that the altercation turned physical when Brumbrey stabbed the victim in the shoulder. 

The victim was transported to the WellStar West Georgia Medical Center where she was treated and released.
