Mrs. Janie Stiggers Hardnett

Mrs. Janie Stiggers Hardnett, age 97  of 1108 Simmons Street died Saturday, October 12, 2019 at her home.  Mrs. Hardnett, a native of Lagrange was the daughter of the late Noah and Rosie Truitt.  She was educated in the local school system, held employment and retired from Troup County School System after 36 years of service.  Mrs. Hardnett was a member of Solomon Grove Baptist Church where she served on several  auxiliaries.  Survivors include four children, John (Bobbie) Hardnett of West Palm Beach, Fl., Ethel Ruth Smith, Brenda Hardnett and Ronnie (Sandra) Hardnett all of Lagrange, Georgia; seventeen grandchildren; two nieces, Mrs. Bettye Dallas and Mrs. Louise Carlisle; two nephews, Charles (Katherine) Truitt and Peter (Yolanda) Truitt; twenty six great grandchildren; eleven great great grandchildren; a loving church family of Solomon Grove Baptist Church;  special and caring Senior Companion, Mrs. Betty Brown and several other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Hardentt, Sr.; a daughter and son Emily Rosser Hardnett and James Hardnett, Jr.; her siblings and other relatives.  Funeral Services for Mrs. Janie Hardnett will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church on Fannin Street.  Rev. John Thompkins will be the Eulogist.  Dr. Clarence Sams is the Church Pastor.  Visitation will be held on Friday, October 18, 2019 from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m.  The family will receive friends at the home of her daughter, Ethel Ruth Smith at 408 Ragland Street.  Condolences may be expressed or you may sign the Guest Book at http://www.westgeorgiamortuary.com.  West Georgia Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
