Man arrested for methamphetamine possession

On Thursday, investigators with the Troup County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division executed a search warrant at 168 West Hopson Road in reference to methamphetamine sales from the location. The suspect in the case, William Jonathan Jay Allen, 48, was found to be in possession of almost an ounce of methamphetamine, according to a press release from the TCSO. He was arrested charged with possession of meth with intent.

During the search warrant, an emaciated, crippled and dying dog was found in a shed in the rear yard. According to the press release, the dog had no food or water, could not walk and had to be carried out of the shed.  The Troup County Marshal’s Office was called and responded to the scene.  The owner of the dog, Michael Allen will be charged by the Marshal’s Office with Animal Cruelty, according to the press release.
