The LaGrange College Panthers are hoping it’ll be a happy homecoming.

LaGrange College will host Greensboro on Saturday in a USA South game at Callaway Stadium, with kickoff set for 2 p.m.

The homecoming festivities will take place at halftime.

LaGrange College (2-3 overall) is looking for a breakthrough win after dropping its first two conference games to North Carolina Wesleyan and Averett.

North Carolina Wesleyan (1-4 overall) is also winless through its first two conference games.

LaGrange College has had its defensive issues through the first two weeks of conference play, giving up a combined 107 points against Averett and North Carolina Wesleyan.

While LaGrange College kept pace offensively for most of the game in a 52-35 loss to N.C. Wesleyan, it lost to Averett 55-7 last week.

Averett had 501 yards of offense, and it scored seven offensive touchdowns while also returning a punt for a score.

LaGrange College’s lone touchdown came on a scoring pass from Cam Perkins to Jeremiah Engram in the second quarter.

That touchdown got LaGrange College within six, but Averett scored the game’s final 32 points.
